Error during IMS logon (80040605)

We are having abit of an issue with a few of our users getting an error when logging onto T-Plan IMS.

"An error occurred during IMS logon"
Code = 80040605
A database error occurred.

Some things we have found out so far. It seems to be client side instead of server side, one user had the issue on computer at one site but not on the other, re-installing T-plan doesnt help netiher does re-creating users profile.

Ive solved 2 of these by re-imaging the machine but this didnt work for someone else.

Anyone got any ideas? I'm sure there is lots of details I'm missing out but I personally dont use T-plan, I'm just the poor guy who is getting bugged to solve the problems :(

Sorry to hear you're the one getting it in the neck to sort these problems, sounds familiar! :lol:

Could you provide us with a few more details to help identify the error?

*What version of T-Plan are you using- I believe its 4.2sr1?
*What is the database backend that you are using?
*Have the Users encountering this error been able to log on before e.g. is this a new problem that has just started occurring?

In the mean time I will take the error message to the T-Plan development team for their feedback.

Taken some time to get the information off people that know :)

We are using t-plan 4.2 sr1 version 04.02.362 with primarily a oracle 10G database release

The error is happening randomly on people that have been working for months.

Hi Leon,

You are working on a very old version of T-Plan which wasn't tested to be used on Oracle 10g.

What I would suggest would be to migrate you current version of 4.2 up to the latest version of the software which is 6.0 SR2.

This should hopefully help resolve the randomly occuring errors.

thanks for the response, I have forwarded the suggestion of upgrading to see if its viable. :)
