Error log file

Post by SteveJenkin » Tue Jan 22, 2008 4:24 pm

Hi Alistair,

Could you please send us the T-Plan error log file?

This can be found by navigating within T-Plan Version 6.0 SR2 to the T-Plan Professional logo in the top left-hand corner, clicking on it and then selecting 'Options'.

Select the 'Error logging' tab and open the log file, if you could save it and e-mail it to support@t-plan.com it would be much appreciated.

Kind regards.

Hi Alistair,

The reports in T-Plan use the Crystal Reports 10 Runtime libraries. I am not aware of any compatibility issues with other software, however, have you tried to compare your PC with one of your colleagues? i.e. checking Add/Remove programs list.

The mechanism used by T-Plan when reporting is as follows:-
1. User runs report.
2. T-Plan queries the database to produce a recordset.
3. Recordset is inserted into table in Report.mdb file.
4. Crystal report Viewer is loaded.
5. Report template is loaded into Viewer with data from Report.mdb.

Any one of the above chain of events could be failing.

Could you try to preview a report then, locate the Report.mdb file, it should be in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\T-Plan\Extensions\tpreport, then send us the file Report.mdb.

Also, would it be possible to run Filemon or Process Monitor so that we can see which files, if any, are missing etc. during reporting.

Process Monitor is available for download from Microsoft.

Dave Bond.
