Post by iletuchy » Tue Aug 28, 2007 6:32 pm

Hi Steve,

We are running into a problem in T-Plan 6.0 RS1; which we see with vershion 5.1.1.

T-Plan allows copy images and they shown in T-Plan without problem; however in the report it shown as characters.

e.g.

Can you address this issue without workaround?

Hi Inna,

Could you please explain a little bit more about the version you are using as I am a little confused.

Are you using T-Plan Version 6.0 Release Candidate 1 or T-Plan 5.1.1?

The full version of T-Plan Version 6.0 is available for download on the support website: http://www.t-plan.co.uk/support/bb/viewforum.php?f=119

Could you also tell me what image format you are using e.g GIF, JPEG or BMP?

And finally could you tell me what report you are using and where within T-Plan you are running the report. e.g On a Script in Design or Test Suite in Manage?

I look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

iletuchy

Hi Steve,

We are using T-Plan 6.0 now, yet we observed the same problem with T-Plan v5.1.1. This is not a new issue for us.

Our images are "print screen" pasted into NOTES view. We can see it as images in Notes view, yet not in the reports.

For reports we are using default reports that comes with T-Plan installer, e.g. Test Plan Detail, Execution Schedule Detail

If we do print screen or will use SnagIt tool to edit our images and paste it into the Note view, we will endup with useless report.

Thanks,

Inna

Hi Inna,

Due to the limitation within the Crystal Reports software, screen shots/print screens will not appear in the T-Plan reports. However, in T-Plan 6.0 the reports should no longer display random charactors, but a message to say that the Notes field contains a object file.

Is the report still displaying random charactors? If yes, can you check what T-Plan Reporting Module Extension you have installed - to do this navigate to Administration with T-Plan Professional and select Extensions. Here you should see the T-Plan Reporting Module and the version number in the far right column. The version number you should see in 06.00.2383.
Please make sure you are logged on as an Admin user when checking this.

Are the databases you are having problems with created in 6.0 or are they migrated from 5.1.1? Or both new 6.0 and migrated 5.1.1 database.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
Ian

Hi Inna,

Thanks for the info. I have spoken to the development team and they have requested a copy of your report .mdb.

To get this, here's what we need you to do...

1. Run the report in preview mode and keep the preview window open.
2. Locate the file C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Application Data\T-Plan\Extensions\tpreport\report.mdb and take a copy of it.
3. Send the copy to us, preferably zipped.

If you could send us a copy for the development team to have a look at that would be great.

Thanks
Ian
