Toggling of Mandatory / Optional Fields

Post by mhurst » Thu Aug 23, 2007 10:16 am

At meeting with T-Plan (Steve Coombs 30/05/07) , in the demonstration of the setting of attributes to mandatory, questions were asked as to what happens if the flag is disabled for a period of time, then re-enabled. Whilst the flag is disabled what if any values are stored in the database, and what are the implications on any reports being run off the particular attribute.

During the demonstration Steve Coombs identified that the default value is assigned whist the mandatory flag is disabled.

Please confirm + report implications

Hi Mick,

If you create an attribute and set it as 'Mandatory', when you use the attribute within the database you will then be unable to de-select it as 'Mandatory' as it is already being used within the database.

This feature of T-Plan prevents you from removing/editing any attribute within the database once it is in use.

You can hide attibutes from users views but not delete them.

Kind regards,
