Windows Installer Problem

Post by soniaj » Wed Nov 02, 2005 4:14 pm

Has anyone come across an issue where by TPlan interferes with other applications such as word.

We have just installed TPlan Professional 5.1.2 and each time we start Micorsoft word a windows installer pop message is launched, this never completes and can only be cancelled.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

T-Plan Professional when installed has a built in interface with Microsoft Word.
Upon installation a macro package is made available in Microsoft Word's startup directory that loads the export utility to allow information to be imported into T-Plan Professional.
This directory is found below: (where C: is the letter of your hard drive)

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP
(This path presumes an Office 2003 installation)

The File you are looking for in this directory is:

Code: Select all
When Word starts up T-Plan Professional's installer is "smart enough" to realise that some dependent files are missing. In this case I suspect that the macro file is missing and the installer is smart enough to try and recover it - although in this case it seems that it cannot find the installation package.

To attempt to solve this issue please try the following:
  • Please download the attached file ("") to this post and place in the directory:

    Code: Select all

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP
  • Reinstall T-Plan Professional making sure that you do this with Administration permission on the target computer. This should install the "" file in the Microsoft Office directory.
